Garage Woolery has expressed an interest in classic musclecars, and to that end acquired a 1971 Dodge Charger in March 2009. The Charger is a numbers matching, 2 california owner, big block car with a 383 engine. This Charger is currently the subject of a long term restomod project. The goal is to modernize the car while still maintaining that special 70′s and 80′s musclecar attitude.
The Charger project, thus far, is in a “tear down” and “parts acquisition” mode. We’ve done quite a bit of disassembly to the car, and we’ve been stockpiling performance and rare OEM parts for the project:
-A full Alterkation suspension upgrade from Rielly Motorsports is waiting in the wings. This will swap out the torsen bar and leaf spring suspension with a dual A-arm and multi-link coilover suspension system. This car will handle like a modern sportscar when done!
-Brakes have been updated to 13″ Wilwood disk brakes
-Rare OEM parts have been collected and will be used to update the Charger to an R/T clone, including louvered R/T doors and an uber rare 6-pack Air Charger hood!
