Today was the hottest day ever recorded in Los Angeles, making for pretty uncomfortable work here at Garage Woolery, but we were so excited about the fastback project that we forged ahead anyway… Today we added some bulk to the rear glass and did some trimming of foam and fiberglass. The glass had about 12 [...]

22 Sept 2010: Rear Window Cutout Work/Foam Part II
Posted in Pitcrew Roadster News on September 22, 2010 | 1 Comment »
We did some more cutout work on the fastback for the rear window, making the slots wider and cutting away material to let the glass recess into the top and sit flush with the surface of the fastback. We’ll do some more cutting, but not until we’re finished with filling the voids inside the fastback [...]
Fastback Project 21 Sep 2010: Foam
Posted in Pitcrew Roadster News on September 21, 2010 | Leave a Comment »
Today we cut out the passenger side quarter window mount and started foaming in the void areas inside the fastback hardtop. The foam we are using is an expanding foam which is available at any hardware store and is normally used for insulation in construction. The foam will act as a foam core/foundation for later [...]
Fastback Project Update 20 Sep 2010

Today we made some of the initial cuts into the fastback. These cuts are the first steps in receeding the glass mounting surface into the fastback, allowing the glass to sit flush when mounted. The plan is to sand down the join where the piece was cut out, fill the voids with foam, and build [...]
Mockup of Glass on the Pitcrew Roadster
Posted in Pitcrew Roadster News on September 18, 2010 | 3 Comments »
We laid both rear glass and quarter glass onto the Pitcrew Roadster to get an idea how the glass would look on the car. We really like how the curvature of the glass works with the rest of the car’s lines. Lots more fitment work to follow on the fastback, though. But for now, Enjoy!
FINALLY! Custom Pitcrew quarter window glass!

So, when we first embarked on making custom glass for the Pitcrew Roadster’s fastback top, we were expecting to make the glass in just a few weeks. Although the rear glass only took weeks to complete, the quarter glass for the project was a whole ‘nother ballgame. The quarter window glass was expected to take [...]
Elise Seats for the Pitcrew Roadster
Posted in Pitcrew Roadster News on April 14, 2010 | 5 Comments »
For the longest time, Garage Woolery has had a problem with the stock Miata seats that were in the Pitcrew Roadster. They were relatively heavy and didn’t offer the right kind of support. Although we had performed the well known stock seat modification known as “the foamectomy” to lower the driver position in the car, [...]
How much does the Pitcrew Roadster Weigh?
Posted in Pitcrew Roadster News on February 28, 2010 | Leave a Comment »
Today at Garage Woolery we finally put the Pitcrew roadster on the scales and weighed it. We’ve been wondering for years just how much the car weighed after all the modifications that have been done to it. So, how much does it weigh in street trim (full tank, street wheels/tires, both seats installed, hardtop on)? A mere [...]
IT’S A TRAP!

TRAP lip that is…Garage Woolery recently received a TRAP lip for the Pitcrew Roadster. This is a limited run item made specifically to work with the Pitcrew nose. We were amazed that we received the TRAP lip so quickly from Tetsuya Garage when it was ordered. It literally took only a few days from ordering the lip to [...]

So what does the cryptic title mean? It means that the Garage Woolery Pitcrew Roadster needed track wheels, so we decided to equip it with 949 Racing’s 6UL 15×9 wheels! We decided that the wheels would look best in bronze–and to add extra pizzaz, we also placed ”949RACING” stickers to the lips. The result looked so nice that Emilio at 949 [...]
